ORIENT

The ORIENT project is funded as part of the JOINT PROGRAMMING INITIATIVE "MORE YEARS, BETTER LIVES" - THE POTENTIAL AND CHALLENGES OF DEMOGRAPHIC CHANGE.

The consortium will jointly investigate how the introduction of new technologies and the learning of new skills ("orientation") can be improved for the effective use of technologies in the sense of co-creation in the field of care. In particular, the use of care robots will be considered. To date, barriers to the acceptance of care robots and shortcomings in the utilisation of care robots have stood in the way of their efficient use. In order to overcome these barriers and shortcomings, new methods and models are to be developed within the framework of ORIENT to enable the effective use of the technology - whereby the needs of older customers and their relatives are also placed at the centre of the consideration. Carers, care services and other stakeholders from the private sector, the public sector and the non-profit sector will also be considered within the field of innovation.
